In summer, downtown Freehold is always bustling with people, events, live music and fun.

Check out this list of events:

Sunday, May 31: The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County presents The National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene Troupe in “Makht a Tsimes (Make a Fuss)” from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at Freehold Jewish Center, 59 Broad St.

Every Wednesday night, June 3 to Aug. 5: Watch as talented singers 10 and older battle to win “Freehold Idol” in front of the Hall of Records starting at 7:30 p.m.

Thursday nights June 11 to Aug. 27: Enjoy the Thursday night concert series, presented by 33 East Car Wash & S.T.A.R.S. Productions, in front of the Hall of Records from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Groups, such as Jersey Four, The Nerds, Time Machine, Bobby and the Jets, and the Phil Engel Band will be playing.

June 28 to Sept. 6: Freehold Borough Arts Council presents the third year of its jazz and blues summer series. Every Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m., enjoy live jazz and blues in front of the gazebo, where you can sit down and enjoy a meal while enjoying the soothing sounds.

July 7: Flavor of Freehold, where attendees can sample dishes from the borough’s various eateries, runs

Friday, July 10: Don’t miss the red, white and brew crawl, which will take place at The American Hotel, Court Jester, Federici’s and Metropolitan Cafe from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

July 10 to October: Every Friday, explore the Freehold farmers market and indulge in some freshly picked local foods from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If you’d like to take a bite out of summer year round, then visit Wemrock Orchards, Highway 33 and Wemrock Road in Freehold, which serves delicious homemade pies, cookies, cupcakes, breads, fresh vegetables and fruits. Step inside the taste testing room, where you can sample delicious wines from Tomasello Winery in Hammonton.

If you’d like to explore outside the downtown area, then spend a day scoping out the different shops and restaurants along Route 9 in Freehold and the surrounding areas.
